To think, next week, I'll be in sunny California...walking amongst the stars (and taking my first step in what may be the closest I could ever get to the Marvel Universe) on the set of Iron Man 2!
You know, in all honesty...this came to me by a fluke. When the people at Marvel first announced this contest, I was like "Yeah okay..." and didn't really think much about it at first. I mean, I just punched my name and other info in just as a way to kill a few minutes one day, not really expecting to win anything. So the months went by, and I'd almost completely forgotten about it.
Well...imagine my surprise when the contest people called up, telling me I'd won the Grand Prize. My folks almost had to peel me off the floor that day. I was pretty shellshocked, but in a good way.
Of course there was the waiting period that followed after that, between the contest people sorting out all the details, plus there was the infamous Writer's Strike, which compounded the situation even more. Still, I guess I should be glad that they were keeping me in the loop for all that time.
And now, the moment has almost arrived, and I am busily girding myself for this momentous occasion.
Don't worry...I will try to get plenty of pics, and I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised.

Welcome to my neck of the woods. I'm jealous you get to go on set!
Look at it this way...with me, you get an extra set of eyes into the making of one of next summer's big budget comic-based extravangas!
I promise to try and get some decent shots ;)
And when I see you on screen, I'll be all,"I KNOW THAT GUY!!"
Somehow, I have the feeling a lot of my LJ-friends will be doing the same thing :)
Have a good time, my friend and enjoy. I look forward to what pics you share of your experience. I truly hope you get in a cool scene.
